C tier Tank Clash Lane Difficulty 3/5 ★ INTL EXCLUSIVE Published 2026-04-18

Identity

Ata is a pirate-themed tank hero exclusive to the International server, originating from the Unknown region. A former orphan who worked as a longshoreman dreaming of the open sea, he rose to become a fearsome pirate captain wielding a massive anchor as his signature weapon. His visual design features a rugged pirate aesthetic with nautical elements, and his kit emphasizes area control and battlefield manipulation through temporary terrain creation.

Playstyle

Skills

Passive: Child of the Sea

When Ata takes damage, lost health is stored as a gray shield. While this shield exists, dealing damage to enemies converts 40% (heroes) or 15% (minions/monsters) of the damage dealt back into actual health. Additionally, his basic attacks deal extra physical damage. This passive makes Ata extremely hard to kill in prolonged fights—keep attacking to maximize healing.

Tip: The gray shield decays over time after 7 seconds. Use your skills to deal consistent damage during fights to convert damage into healing before the shield fades.

Skill 1: Wavewalking

Ata leaps into the air and slams down twice, dealing physical damage with each slam. The second slam knocks enemies airborne for 0.5 seconds. Ata is immune to crowd control during the jump. When hitting multiple enemies, damage decays by 20% per additional target (minimum 60%).

Tip: This is your primary engage and escape tool. Use it to jump over walls or close gaps, but save your second jump to time the knockup for maximum team fight impact.

Skill 2: Anchor

Ata throws his anchor in a straight line, dealing physical damage and slowing enemies by 60% for 1.5 seconds. If the anchor hits terrain, Ata is pulled to that location along with any enemy hit. After using Anchor, the next basic attack within 3 seconds will pull the enemy backward.

Tip: Aim for walls to extend your dash range. The auto-attack extension works as a second CC opportunity—combine with your ultimate for extended lockdown.

Ultimate: Ghost Ship

Ata builds temporary terrain along the outer border of a cone-shaped area for 4 seconds, dealing physical damage to enemies inside. While using the skill, Ata gains crowd control immunity. He can reactivate the skill to dismiss the terrain early.

Tip: Use this to isolate enemies from their team by surrounding them with terrain, or block enemy escape routes. The terrain blocks movement but allies can pass through freely.

Best Build (Patch Season 14)

Core items:

  1. Boots of Resistance — Magic defense + movement speed + 35% CC reduction
  2. Spikemail — Physical defense + damage reflection
  3. Blazing Cape — AoE magic damage to nearby enemies
  4. Ominous Premonition — Reduces enemy attack speed
  5. Succubus Cloak — Magic defense + HP regen + out-of-combat shield
  6. Eye of the Phoenix — Magic defense + healing boost based on missing HP

Arcana: 10 Fate + 10 Harmony + 10 Vacuity (focus on HP, defense, and slight cooldown)

Battle spells: Flash (primary) — Ata lacks mobility outside his skills, so Flash is essential for repositioning or escaping.

Pro Tips

  1. Maximize passive healing: Constantly deal damage during fights—the 40% conversion makes you extremely resilient. Don’t flee too early; you heal more the longer you stay in combat.

  2. Wall-hops with Anchor: Anchor can dash to any terrain, including jungle camp walls. Use this to escape ganks or surprise enemies from unexpected angles.

  3. Ghost Ship zoning: Place the terrain to block enemy retreats during team fights. The cone shape is excellent for surrounding enemies against walls.

  4. Combo sequence: Skill 1 → Ultimate (terrain forms) → Skill 2 (pull through terrain). This traps enemies inside your zone.

  5. Avoid small areas: Don’t fight in constricted spaces where enemies can’t dodge your abilities. Open areas give you more room to use Wavewalking effectively.

FAQ

Is Ata good in Season 14? Ata currently sits at C tier with a 47.47% win rate and very low pick rate (0.26%). He’s a niche pick that excels in coordinated team play but struggles in solo queue due to his lack of damage and reliance on team follow-up.

What’s the best build for Ata? Full tank is recommended—prioritize Boots of Resistance, Spikemail, Blazing Cape, Ominous Premonition, Succubus Cloak, and Eye of the Phoenix. The focus should be on surviving long enough to use your passive healing effectively.

Who counters Ata? Heroes with high mobility and burst (Lu Bu, Prince of Lanling) can kill Ata before his sustain becomes relevant. Also, poke mages who can damage him from range without getting caught in his engage.

Is Ata easy to learn? Medium difficulty. His skill rotation is straightforward, but mastering wall-hops with Anchor and proper Ghost Ship positioning requires practice. The passive healing mechanic also requires understanding when to fight vs. retreat.

Can Ata solo carry? No. Ata is heavily team-dependent. He provides excellent utility and sustain but lacks the damage to carry games solo. He works best as a front-line enabler for teammates.
