Quick summary

Current patch decision guide
When to pick Biron, when to avoid them, and how to adapt your build.
Biron is a strong Clash Lane Fighter who wants to pick off isolated heroes once mobility is online. Public guide data shows a build centered on Meteor, Boots of Fortitude, Nettle Gauntlet, used to soak pressure in lane and threaten side objectives. Pick him when the draft lets Biron reach targets that aren't built around Lady Sun-style answers; avoid when the enemy chains crowd control that stops the engage before damage lands.
Pick Biron when
- The enemy team has carries with limited self-peel that Biron can reach before the team can react
- Your team needs a setup hero whose Storm Strike creates kill windows for the carry
- The enemy draft includes Dun and Wukong, who appear in counter data as matchups Biron can pressure.
Avoid Biron when
- The team needs sustained team-fight damage rather than a single-target diver
- The enemy team is loaded with cleanse, dashes, and immunity that bypass crowd control
- The enemy already drafted Lady Sun and Sun Bin, who counter data identifies as direct answers to Biron.

Build decisions
Default clash lane path
Public build references for Biron recommend Meteor, Boots of Fortitude, Nettle Gauntlet, Pure Sky, Glacial Buckler, and Boots of Resistance. Use this as the baseline fighter plan before adapting to the enemy draft.
Situational item pivots
Spare options listed in build data include Eye of the Phoenix, Longnight Guardian, Ominous Premonition, Sage's Sanctuary, Destiny, and Spikemail. Treat these as situational swaps when the default path is not enough — for example, swapping in defensive items against burst comps or penetration items against stacked armor.
Matchup logic
Versus Lady Sun
Lady Sun and Sun Bin are flagged in counter data as a direct answer to Biron. Bait the enemy crowd control before engaging, and route through fog to reach targets without being seen first.
Versus crowd control
Reliable hard control stops Biron's engage before the combo lands. Bait the most threatening control skill before committing Force Field Suppression, and wait for ally engage to absorb peel.
Synergies
Public synergy data lists Guiguzi and Liu Bang as strong partners for Biron. Plan engages around Guiguzi's setup window, then second-engage with Force Field Suppression.
Common mistakes
- Engaging without follow-up — gap-close gets you to the target, but a solo dive without ally damage trades 1-for-1.
- Throwing Storm Strike on the front-line tank instead of saving it for backline carries.
- Ignoring Lady Sun and Sun Bin on the enemy team when picking fights — counter data flags them as direct answers, so engage timing must respect their cooldowns.
- Forcing solo engages instead of waiting for ally commit — Biron's value compounds when the team follows up on engages.
Background
Sparkmace
“However great it is, I must conquer my fear!”
Biron was but a lowly commoner, an unremarkable but valiant fighter who grew braver with every battle. Once he'd come of age, Biron became a guard and traveled around Sunset with a merchant caravan, during which time he noticed the minute changes that pollution was causing to Navenia. He therefore paid a visit to Milady, the ruler of the city, and it was this reckless act that lost him his arm, but he did not give up on finding the truth. Instead, he relied on a courage and resolution he never had before to stop the pollution from spreading throughout Navenia.
