Current patch decision guide

When to pick Jing, when to avoid them, and how to adapt your build.

Updated 2026-06-04

Jing is a struggling Jungle Assassin who wants to snowball with kills off early ganks. Public guide data shows a build centered on Rapacious Bite, Boots of Dexterity, Axe of Torment, used to clear camps efficiently and convert pressure into ganks. Pick her when the draft lets Jing reach targets that aren't built around Angela-style answers; avoid when the enemy chains crowd control that stops the engage before damage lands.

Pick Jing when

  • The map shape favors gank routes, where mobility translates directly into kills
  • Your team can engage first, letting Jing second-wave into low-health targets
  • The enemy draft includes Dharma, Ata, and Lian Po, who appear in counter data as matchups Jing can pressure.

Avoid Jing when

  • The team needs sustained team-fight damage rather than a single-target diver
  • Your team has no primary engage, leaving the cleanup pick with nothing to follow up on
  • The enemy already drafted Angela, Daji, and Gan & Mo, who counter data identifies as direct answers to Jing.

Power spikes

Early game: jungle clear into level-4 ganks is the first window where Jing can translate routes into kills.
Ultimate unlocked: Mirror Domain converts mobility into burst, the moment Jing starts threatening picks across the map
Late game: cooldowns become short enough that Shattered Illusions influences every team fight rather than being a one-shot tool.

Build decisions

Default jungle path

Public build references for Jing recommend Rapacious Bite, Boots of Dexterity, Axe of Torment, Dragon's Rage, Blazing Cape, and Overlord's Might. Use this as the baseline assassin plan before adapting to the enemy draft.

Situational item pivots

Spare options listed in build data include Cuirass of Savagery, Succubus Cloak, and Blood Rage. Treat these as situational swaps when the default path is not enough — for example, swapping in defensive items against burst comps or penetration items against stacked armor.

Matchup logic

Versus Angela

Angela and Daji are flagged in counter data as a direct answer to Jing. Bait the enemy crowd control before engaging, and route through fog to reach targets without being seen first.

Versus crowd control

Reliable hard control stops Jing's engage before the combo lands. Bait the most threatening control skill before committing Mirror Domain, and wait for ally engage to absorb peel.

Synergies

Public synergy data lists Lady Zhen, Liang, and Mai Shiranui as strong partners for Jing. Plan engages around Lady Zhen's setup window, then second-engage with Mirror Domain.

Common mistakes

  • Engaging without follow-up — gap-close gets you to the target, but a solo dive without ally damage trades 1-for-1.
  • Engaging first instead of second — cleanup picks lose their value as primary engagers.
  • Ignoring Angela and Daji on the enemy team when picking fights — counter data flags them as direct answers, so engage timing must respect their cooldowns.
  • Pathing predictably and getting tracked by the enemy jungler — vary first clear and rotate based on ward placement rather than muscle memory.

Background

Broken Mirage

Zhulu Plateau
“I project myself onto my mirror.”

Jing was born to an old enforcer family, receiving rigorous training since her early years. However, her parents went missing mysteriously in the midst of a mission, leaving her and her younger brother, Yao, to fend for themselves. In order to steer clear of enemies lurking in the shadows, Jing buried her familial ties and entered Jixia Academy along with her brother to become stronger. The trials she faced in the Hall of Mirrors in Jixia Academy granted her strength and glory, yet they were just the first step on the difficult path ahead. At least now she knows that, no matter what the future holds for her, she'll never stop moving forward...
